Education in San Diego: You Guys Have it Good

I don't think I can attest how excellent education is here in San Diego, despite what some naysayers will tell me. I have three more months until I can declare myself as a California resident, so I have to spend two semesters in Mesa community college, where I am very impressed by how well my class instruction is so far. I have talked to students who tell me that education isn't as good as what it's supposed to me, and this truly breaks my heart, because it makes me wonder why wasn't I in San Diego when I was growing up?

While in Las Vegas, I grew up during the time when the state of Nevada was considered the worst state for education in the nation. By the time I moved out to San Diego, Nevada moved up a whopping two ranks to state number 48 in the "States with Best Education" list. As you can guess, my education was very atrocious, and it has always been my dream to transfer out of the state in order to pursue better options elsewhere. At the ripe age of 22, I am finally fulfilling my dreams, but as I said before, I am simply shocked at the thought that a COMMUNITY COLLEGE in San Diego has been giving me better education than an entire UNIVERSITY in Las Vegas!

I want to implore this to every parent out here in San Diego: DO NOT LET YOU TEENAGER MISS OUT ON TAKING UNIVERSITY HERE! San Diegans are simply BLESSED with amazing teachers and outstanding campuses in which to study in, and on top of that, there is an incredible diverse student life and amazing student culture at every campus. I will keep my own personal journal about my studies in San Diego, and I'll try to post up any interesting stories that come up throughout my campus life!

Until then, happy writing everyone!
