Vista teen ordered to pay $105,703 for her admitted acts of vandalism

City of Vista due to be repaid costs in 176 years

A teenaged graffiti vandal has promised to pay $105,703 to the City of Vista, at the rate of $50 per month, as restitution for “knowingly and with malice” destroying property.

Ramona Elena Montes, 18, admitted five separate acts that caused property damage in a plea deal she signed on May 14, 2013. She made the deal after she was in jail two weeks, charged with more than 60 separate criminal acts, 40 felonies and 22 misdemeanors.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Sergeant G. Twyman had claimed the petite Latina was responsible for more than 300 incidents of graffiti, between August of 2012 and April of 2013, and that Montes signed her defacements HAZE.

The admitted felon is now at liberty, it appears that she served half of her agreed-upon six-month sentence. Montes is now on five years formal probation.

San Diego Superior Court Judge David L. Berry ordered the teen: “Do not associate with any person you know is a member of CFB Cali Female Bombers” and “Do not knowingly be in possession of tagging tools, ie spray paint/markers/etching tools.”

Ramona Elena Montes, 18, was ordered to begin restitution payments sixty days after release from custody.
