San Diego Classical Concerts

What's classical in San Diego this weekend?

There are multiple concerts this weekend in classical music.

Samson et Dalila continues at the Civic Theater on Friday the 22nd at 7:00 pm and Sunday the 24th at 2:00 pm.

The San Diego Youth Symphony has a concert at 7:30 pm on Saturday the 23rd. The venue is the San Dieguito United Methodist Church in Encinitas. The concert features music by Mendelssohn, Rossini, Vaughan Williams, and Haydn. The San Diego Master Chorale will be singing with the orchestra.

There are at least seven concerts on Sunday.

The youth orchestra is having an open rehearsal at Casa del Prado in Balboa Park starting at 1:00 pm.

Quartet Nouveau is offering Borodin, Kreisler, and Schumann at Hope United Methodist in Rancho Bernardo. The start time is 2:00 pm. This is a very nice opportunity to hear the tune-laden Borodin String Quartet.

Also at 2:00 pm on Sunday the San Diego Early Music Society is performing a concert at the Fine Art Museum in Balboa Park. The concert features paintings and music from the medieval, baroque, and renaissance periods.

Internationally renowned pianist Gustavo Romero is performing at the Escondido Center for the Arts at 3:00 pm on Sunday the 24th.

New York based Knights Orchestra is performing a concert for the Fallbrook Music Society at 3:00 pm. The concert is at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts and features award winning Chinese pipa artist Wu Man.
