Lt. Gov Gavin Newsom claims Brown is misleading voters about Prop 30

In a recent radio interview Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom claims Brown is misleading voters about Prop 30 and the impact on schools in order to get his tax hikes.

Newsom claims in a KGO radio interview two weeks ago:

“We gotta be more cautious in politics. You can’t do that,”.

“Well he’s not happy with me,” Newsom said.

Newsom dislikes how Brown is misrepresenting Prop 30, as necessary to prevent tuition increases at CSU and UC campuses.

“My big concern is we went down yesterday and said there won’t be a tuition increase if you support this, that’s just not true,” Newsom said to KGO.

Newsom sits on the UC Board of Regents and CSU Board of Trustees, claims tuition will likely increase next school year regardless of Prop 30's passage. (Remember how Brown is promising students if they vote for this they will receive a $500 check in the mail and tuition won't go up?)

“You can’t say things like that, and I don’t mean this as an indictment on the governor but I know for a fact that we are going to be discussing tuition increases at CSU and UC level shortly after the election,” Newsome said.

“We have to be honest,” he said. “This thing is barely holding on and it requires voracity.”

Brown's credibility with this should be tanking. He also promised it would not hike gas prices and it does by changing the Constitution. He also said 100% of the money had to go to schools, a statement in direct conflict with the language of the Prop. So if you are voting Yes on this based on Brown's promises, be warned.....
