Halloween, French-style

Loris Compiano is getting a crazy clientele who are always dressing up...

Heading up 10th, came across Loris and a bunch of wild ladies, celebrating Halloween on the sidewalk.

This was at his Café Paris (455 10th Avenue, East Village, 619-674-8439), an über-cool new wine bar and bistro.

Turns out he’s holding an open soirée tonight (Wednesday), all welcome, and anyone who’s dressed for Halloween gets a free first glass of wine.

“Also,” he says. “We’re having a special Halloween happy hour from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. “Six dollar wine, $4 beer, $6 appetizer plates.”

And here he’s talking about, like, cheese fondues, French onion soups, marinated mussels, a cheese plate, or three small-bite plates with, say, goat cheese bruschetta, pigs in blankets, garlic parsley shrimp, mini stuffed pepper with ground beef.

And, says Loris, anyone who reads and mentions this blog will get their first glass free. Just say the magic word: Reader.

Even if you’re not dressed as a witch or in that long shriek face.
