New releases opening this week: The Internship, Wish You Were Here and more

http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/jun/07/47031/

Let's start with the good stuff that is going, going...Scott really really really liked Julien Temple's historical documentary London: The Modern Babylon. (Hee hee - it's a quote from Benjamin Disraeli in 1847.) But while the documentary covers more than 100 years, it's only gonna be around for a couple more days (closes June 9). So hurry on down to the Digital Gym!

Moving on to the good stuff that should last at least a little longer: Scott also liked Wish You Were Here, a "What happened last night?" drama that he delightfully describes as "The Hangover for people longing to be challenged mentally, not the other way around."

And he had some fondness for Fill the Void, which is an easy front-runner in the Best Poster of the Year category. Might be an interesting pairing for Where Do We Go Now?

Alas, it seems that every silver lining has a cloud. The Internship will probably fail to remind everyone why they liked Wedding Crashers. But it had its moments.

The Purge should be purged from theaters. Hey-yo!

The Kings of Summer should abdicate the throne.

Violet & Daisy is "violent and ditzy."

And We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks didn't screen for critics. Were they afraid we'd pirate it and share it illegally on the the Internet?

Here's something you might be interested in.
