Removing Political Blight

Have a look at this short video on YouTube:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG_RRFeb49c

The Grantville Action Group is recycling political signs to get the message out that Grantville is not blighted.

The City and County have declared the small businesses of Grantville (the neighborhood is in upper mission valley, across the freeway from the stadium) as "blighted" so they can redevelop the entire area, putting up more condos and using eminent domain to take away family businesses.

Even worse, the City, County, and notorious Centre City Development Corporation conspired to take $31.4 million from Grantville and spend it beautifying the C street trolley at City Hall, and the embarcadero around the County Administration Building.

This is truly outrageous.

Watch the video, and you can see that these folk won't give up. Show them your support by taking down a political sign, using a marker to write your own message, and putting it right back up again.

Political signs are blight. This is the best use for them.

The new city council, especially our new representatives Todd Gloria, Marti Emerald, Sherri Lightner, Carl DeMaio, ought to join together and remove Jim Madaffer's bogus blight designation so that true solutions can be found for Grantville's traffic problems.

Democrat State Senator Kehoe and Republican County Supervisor Jacob already support the Grantville Action Group and their efforts to find justice. It's time for our newest city officials to join in condemning injustice, not condemning small businesses in Grantville.
