Immigrant shelter near Imperial Beach draws videographers
Strelnikov, please note that "people with Hispanic-sounding names" are just as entitled to their opinions as anyone else. You imply that someone with a Hispanic name cannot have common sense. Not every go along with the herd. All U.S. Citizens and Legal Residents, including Hispanics, are harmed by illegal immigration.— March 1, 2019 7:06 a.m.
What Prop 6 is repealing in San Diego
To correct myself, I should have said "What a stupid reason to vote to continue being overtaxed".— November 4, 2018 6:11 p.m.
What Prop 6 is repealing in San Diego
What a stupid reason to vote against being overtaxed. Your logic for voting NO is the perfect example of cutting off your nose to spite your face. I hope that Californians put a little more thought into their choices on election day.— November 4, 2018 6:01 p.m.
A tree survives in Bay Park
JustWondering, I think you are correct to advise additional trimming for balance. While I am not an arborist, I was under the impression that trimming only half of a tree that size may cause the tree's roots to grow bigger on the side that now has no limbs, in order to balance itself, and that in turn may cause damage to the sidewalk or nearby street. I could be wrong about this. It was a lovely tree and it would be a shame to lose it.— September 7, 2018 12:32 p.m.
Homeless man living underground vs. park workers
Interesting article on this link, or search "The Billion Dollar Homeless Scam" as it has appeared on several different sites. https://bayourenaissanceman.blogspot.com/2018/08/…— August 24, 2018 12:54 p.m.
City leaders don’t mention “convention center”
Don, according to the current filings on the CA Secretary of State website, she does. She is the only director and lists herself as the CEO, Secretary and CFO. She also describes herself as president of that company on her LinkedIn profile, which also appears to be current. See below. C2131103 RESTAURANT EVENTS, INC. City leaders don’t mention “convention center”
Kevin Falconer is pushing hard for the expansion of the Convention Center because he, through his wife's company, directly profits from tourism and convention dollars. A KPBS article dated 2/6/2014 states "Katherine Stuart Faulconer owns the business Restaurant Events, which helps companies, conventions and other groups book restaurants for events mostly in the Gaslamp Quarter. Faulconer says she earned about $174,000 in 2012. Faulconer’s campaign did not respond to requests for his tax returns". His thinly veiled attempt at appearing to care about the homeless crisis is really a way to get taxpayers to fund a project that helps people like he and his wife, not the majority of taxpayers in San Diego.— August 9, 2018 12:34 p.m.
Build the Wall sign attracts Waterfront Park scuffle
Calm down Saint-ahem-Jerry. You sound like you are on the verge of a psychotic break. It's ironic that the people with anger management issues are the ones always calling other people "haters".— July 19, 2018 7:54 p.m.
Build the Wall sign attracts Waterfront Park scuffle
At the very least, I hope this incident was reported to the CA State Bar for investigation of Siminou's actions. As for Mara Elliott, she should spend less time worrying about being "political" and more time doing her job. If she didn't want to enforce already existing laws, she should have become a Federal Judge! (SI)— July 17, 2018 12:14 p.m.
Grandpa Irwin’s TV money
sdraoul, please be sure to forward this bombshell information to Robert Mueller so he can stop pissing away all of that taxpayer money investigating his conspiracy of the week. It seems nobody informed him that Hillary lost the election due to poor selection of television shows by voters in three states! On another note, I sit here pondering how humans gained knowledge prior to the advent of television and the internet. Hmmm....— May 4, 2018 6:44 a.m.
