John Steinbeck IV

The second child of the Nobel Prize-winning author, John Steinbeck. In 1965, Steinbeck IV was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He worked as a journalist for Armed Forces Radio and TV, and was a war correspondent for the United States Department of Defense.

In the late 1980s, he moved to La Jolla with his wife Nancy, where he was interviewed by editor Judith Moore and was recruited to write for the Reader. He authored the books In Touch, and The Other Side of Eden: Life With John Steinbeck.
