Improvised storytelling show. Anyone who signs up may be randomly selected to tell a true, five-minute story related to the show’s theme, without notes. November’s theme is “Holidays, Schmolidays.”

Ride The Point
Take part in a charity bike ride through the hidden, unridden, and forbidden parts of Point Loma. Three distances to accommodate different riders. The ten-mile is a relatively flat course on bike paths in Liberty Station, Spanish Landing, and Harbor Island along San Diego Bay, and is good for cruisers, beginning riders, challenged athletes, and families. The 25- and 62-mile are street rides with routes around Cabrillo National Monument, Sunset Cliffs, Ocean Beach, Mission Bay, Mission Valley, and Mission Gorge. Also enjoy a healthy lifestyle expo at Oggi’s in Liberty Station from 9 am to 2 pm with local vendors, music, and refreshments.

Forgotten Tragedy: The Sultana Disaster Of 1865
On April 27, 1865 the paddle wheeler Sultana was chartered by Union officials to carry released POWs back to the north. The boat, already fighting a flood, was loaded with two thousand Union soldiers. Just after midnight, the boilers exploded and the Sultana was torn apart – the worst maritime disaster in American history. Join historian Mark Carlson to hear the story.
Cambodian Rock Band
This play/rock concert thrusts us into the life of a young woman trying to piece together her family history, thirty years after her father fled Cambodia. Featuring a cast that performs classic Cambodian oldies and Dengue Fever hits — a movement cut short by the Khmer Rouge’s attempt to erase the music (and musicians).
