America’s Got Talent finalist Brian Justin Crum was paying tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen long before the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic helped ramp up interest in the operatic rock group. His newest production, Somebody to Love, combines Queen’s music and a fully choreographed ballet performance. Mercury made opera recordings and performed with soprano Montserrat Caballe, and would likely have approved of the local singer’s pop fusion of baroque and ballet.
