Geography of a Horse Dreamer
Cody is chained to a bed, where he is being watched by gangsters. A radio announces action at local race track for horses. Cody keeps begging the gangsters to unlock him from the bed, but they refuse. They will need him to predict the race winners in his dreams. This show is a tribute to the late playwright Sam Shepard. Each night after the play, audience members can present a short piece of their favorite Shepard work for a cast member to read.

Vernal pool walk on Lopez Bridge
Join a group for a walk to vernal pools, our most endangered habitat. Learn about the pools, and also the extremophile plants and animals that live in them. See flowers such as endangered Mesa Mint. This aromatic, densely hairy herb produces stems topped with tiny inflorescences. The bell-shaped, purple flowers have a strong mint scent. Frogs and toads, too!
Surfboards turned into art
35 upcycled surfboards are provided for artists to transform using paintings, mosaics, and woodwork. Entries include Julie Sobolewski’s: hundreds of pieces of hand-cut stained glass adhered to a recycled surfboard to form an image of sea turtles. Charles Adams vested 130 hours of labor in another, using an airbrush to create the look of steel beams, rivets, and bolts. The boards will be displayed during Mission Federal ArtWalk and will be auctioned off through a silent auction online and in the Piazza della Famiglia during the event.
