Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus
Memphis folk singer-guitarist Julien Baker was already forging a successful career with Forrister when she took left turn with a couple of well-received solo releases. So it was a surprise when she announced a new “supergroup” earlier this year, boygenius, pairing her with fellow rising alt-stars Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. Their debut extended play record dropped November 9, and all three members are touring on one bill to perform solo sets, as well as together.
A Doll’s House (Part 2)
In Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, Nora tells her controlling husband Torvald she has sacred duties other than to her family. “That you have not,” he replies. “What duties could those be?” “Duties to myself,” she says, and walks out the door. Part two begins 15 years later, as Nora opens the door.
