Isabella Rossellini’s Green Porno Live (USA, 2015, Ovation) is an ultimately educational but undeniably funny and fascinating glimpse into the mating habits of numerous species. Rossellini proves that she can tackle any acting role, even that of a male spider in his quest for epigyne. Like a quirky college professor, she grabs your attention with unforgettable performances while also offering up the cerebral goods — which is why I still remember what an epigyne is.
Just when you think you’ve maxed out on zombie films, Train to Busan (South Korea, 2016, Well Go) comes at you full speed ahead to remind you why the undead have our undying attention. A fast-paced thriller chock-full of social criticism and truly creepy zombies, the film gets the endorphins going while giving the heart-strings a good tugging without being oversaturated with tropes or saccharine sentimentality. Fantastic performances, stunning visuals, and effects to make you think twice about boarding that next trolley train!
