“The Casbah, of course.”

Do you have a favorite studio that you like to use?

“Audio Design — as a close second to the soundproofed, poorly lit studio zone in my backyard that smells like pot and anxiety.”

What is your favorite piece of gear?

“I just got a Fender Vibratone speaker, and I’m having a hard time not using it on everything.”

Where is your favorite place to buy gear?

“Wherever I can get the best gear for the best deal. Reverb has been a recent obsession. Also, I’m lucky to have a teammate that is relentless at the swap meet and always coming up on something weird and cool. Sometimes it’s Guitar Center, or as those in the muso circles might refer to it, the Death Star.”

Do you have a favorite local DJ?

“Hilary.”

Do you have a favorite local restaurant?

“Starlite.”

What’s a cool place that you suggest out-of-town friends or bands hit while they’re in San Diego?

“Cabrillo Monument is sweet.”
