Tuesday 24
Pianist Robert Parker plays solo at the Real Bar & Bistro (124 Solana Hills Drive) at 6:30 p.m. No cover charge, but there is an expectation that food and drinks are moved… Steph Johnson and Rob Thorsen play duo at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) at 6 p.m. in the bar. No cover charge.

Wednesday 25
Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos pulls a double-shift evening at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) by hosting the Young Lions Series, this week featuring the International Academy of Jazz from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Then he shifts gears to lead the Latin jazz jam session from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. All ages, no cover, musicians bring your horns!

Saxophonist Brian Levy returns to town to duet with Mikan Zlatkovich at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) at 8 p.m. $15 at the door… Robert Parker continues his solo gig at the Real Bar & Bistro at 6:30 p.m… Lorraine Castellanos + 2 set up at Panama 66 with Steve Cotter and Mackenzie Leighton at 7 p.m. No cover, no minimum, all ages… Guitarist Mundell Lowe plays the Happy Hour at the Handlery Hotel (950 Hotel Circle North) at 5:30 p.m. No cover, no minimum, free validated parking.

Saturday 28
Gilbert Castellanos conducts a Tribute to Thelonious Monk at 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner Boulevard) featuring Joshua White, Dave Robaire, Ryan Shaw, and special guests, with shows at 7 and 9 p.m. $15 at the door.

Sunday 29
The Matt Smith Neu Jazz Trio with Mackenzie Leighton and Ed Kornhauser host the Sunday jam session at 98 Bottles from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 21+, no cover charge.
