It's all good news

The good news is ... well, it's all good news. There are still bluefin tuna holding on the Cortez Bank. The local fishing in La Jolla is heating up as private boaters and an occasional sportboat are finding white seabass off the canyon edge in 100 feet of water. The Coronado Islands are still producing good numbers on yellowtail. Halibut are sliding into 40-60 feet of water on the SoCal flats. The spotted bay bass fishing is strong with the currents in San Diego Bay and the 1/2 day boats are finding plenty of freezer-filling rockfish.

March 20 dock totals

The Dolphin 1/2 day am run with 18 anglers aboard reported 3 sheephead, 2 sculpin, 35 rockfish and 7 lingcod caught.

24 anglers aboard the Malihini 3/4 day run to the Coronado Islands boated 42 yellowtail.
