Three county lawyers disciplined

Cheating clients, drinking involved

According to the California Bar Journal, three county lawyers have been disciplined. Verne Craig Scholl of Carlsbad was suspended for one year and placed on two years of probation for five acts of misconduct with clients. Among other things, he wrongly did loan-modification work for a client in Illinois and collected illegal fees. He also misappropriated almost $50,000 from a client.

Jack Marvin Winick of San Diego was suspended 30 days and and placed on two years' probation for using his client's trust-fund account to pay for personal expenses.

Patrick Barnes Condon of Carlsbad was suspended 90 days and placed on three years of probation. In 2011, he had pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol but he did not comply with probation terms by not sbmitting seven quarterly reports on time. He had a pulmonary disease in 2011.

Staviano will be on 20/20 tonite with Barbera Walters, FYI Donny.

shirleyberan: Gawd. Barbara Walters is still on TV? Best, Don Bauder

Barbera's like an energizer bunny. I just thought you'd like to see Stiviano the lie-er.

shirleyberan: I don't watch those kinds of shows. Best, Don Bauder

My spelling is off again. Barbara interviews Stiviano, best friend of billionaire Sterling.

shirleyberan: I don't think Stiviano is much of a friend of Sterlng. Best, Don Bauder

Another good show tonight is "Shark Tank". Mark Cubin is one of the investor sharks. Wonder what he's thinking.

shirleyberan: Mark Cuban is waffling on the sacking of Sterling. I have never seen Shark Tank and probably never will. Best, Don Bauder
