Miramar National Cemetery opens memorial walkway

Monuments installed, Vietnam vet speaks

On Saturday, August 3, veterans and families came together at Miramar National Cemetery to honor fallen veterans.

In a ceremony at the cemetery’s new Miramar Memorial Walkway, four stone monuments with bronze plaques were dedicated to the U.S. Army Special Forces, Jewish veterans, the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, and U.S. Marines of the Korean War.

Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient Col. Roger Donlon, U.S. Army retired, was the presentation guest speaker, followed by representatives describing what each monument honored and stood for.

Miramar National Cemetery is located on 5795 Nobel Drive. It opened in 2011.
