On Alert

Residents of the southwest and southeast sections of La Mesa have been put on alert regarding burglaries that have occurred in at least 11 residential blocks since November 17.

Authorities released the description of two suspects believed to be involved in an incident on the 4500 block of Fourth Street. Both men are believed to be white males. The first suspect was described as 27–28 years old, 6’1”, 170–180 lbs, black hair, wearing black sunglasses, black shirt, and jeans. The second suspect was described as 25 years old, 5’10”, 150 lbs, brown hair, wearing a light shirt and camouflage pants.

It is unknown if police believe all the robberies to be related. However, police say almost all of the robberies were committed during daytime hours on weekdays and the point of entry was a side window, a garage door, or a shed door. Police also disclosed that electronics, computers, jewelry, and a bike or motorcycle were stolen from most of the residences.

A December 1 announcement from the La Mesa Police Department stated that the following blocks had been affected by recent burglary activity:

Southwest: 4200 block of 70th St., 4200 block of Eastridge, 4600 block of Katherine, 4000 block of Marian, 7500 block of Ohio, 4700 block of Zelda, 3800 block of Massachusetts.
