My slang word is Barney because it's funny and it makes me laugh. A Barney is a dork or a loser -- someone who's goofy or out there or in the way. The first time I heard it, my friends and I were watching this old '80s surfer movie called North Shore. In it, there's this guy named Turtle who calls another guy a Barney. We were in, like, fourth grade at the time, and my friends all started calling each other Barnies. Then Barney, the big purple dinosaur, came out and that made it even better. Now, everybody uses it.
