Synopsis

Looking to break free of the Buffalo binds that tie her, Peg Dahl (Zoey Deutch) gets accepted to an Ivy League College — the sort of place that the madcap lass can’t afford to visit, let alone attend. Scalping tickets to help defray the cost of tuition earns her a four year stretch in stir. Back on the street, a debt collector on the other end of the like puts Peg in touch with her calling. This low rent She-Wolf of Wall Street is not without its charms — it’s hard not to find some room in one’s heart for a film that works so hard to restore the word “jagoff” to popular usage. And Deutch has already proven herself capable of carrying a comedy, as evidenced by the refreshingly outrageous Flower. But structurally speaking, this is all over the place, with director Tanya Wexler and screenwriter Brian Sacca bungling the film’s few dramatic patches. All bets are on Ms. Deutch holding her course and not falling in with bad company like the once-indispensable Rose Byrne.
