FSDA Opens 2020 with Angeles Leira
Friends of San Diego Architecture will open 2020 with a talk by Angeles Leira on Adventures in Planning. In March 1999, Ms. Leira talked to FSDA about the Revitalization of Sherman Heights neighborhood. A lot has happened in San Diego, and Leira’s life, since then. She retired after more than 30 years as a San Diego City Planner but continues to be very active on various boards and committees focused on historical preservation and planning issues. She has lived in La Jolla for more than 60 years and is well-known for her knowledge and expertise on development projects. Join us in welcoming Angeles for a morning of education and enlightenment. We are sure she will have some fun (and frustrating) stories to tell about her adventures in the planning department. It is not often we get an “insider’s perspective” on a department so vital to San Diego’s built environment. Come early for coffee. Lecture is $5 and students are free. No reservations necessary.
