Branch Out! Join us for an information session about Tree San Diego’s Volunteer Tree Steward Program. If you love the outdoors and trees, join our arborists to learn more about this growing program! This is an all-ages event for anyone interested in becoming a certified Tree Steward and anyone who will benefit from Tree Stewards helping to plant, care for, inventory, assess or value the trees on their properties. Tree San Diego’s Tree Steward Certification program teaches modern skills to the general public across San Diego County so they can care for trees and improve the tree canopy in their communities. Skills are based on current Best Management Practices and training is designed and taught by educators and licensed arborists certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. Tree Stewards also assist with certifications and teaching to reinforce their skills and improve their knowledge. Healthy trees improve the health of the people who live alongside them. Our unique dry climate drives tree choices and tree care decisions. Practices that work in other parts of the country don’t always work here. Our Tree Stewards learn to sort the myth from the pith.
