From Mission to Modern: The Adobes of Pauma Valley
Behind the gates of the private Pauma Valley Country Club Estates are 80 adobe homes developed in the 1960s and 1970s and four of these homes are open for the Eighth Annual Adobe Home Tour. Bay area Don Brandenburger designed many of the homes incorporating a unique Modern design with open beams and soaring windows to capture the mountain and valley views. The tour also includes the adobe St. Francis Episcopal Church and the Pala Mission church and grounds available after regular church services. Proceeds for the tour benefit the Escondido History Center, St Francis Episcopal Church and Pala Mission. Ticket holders will pick up their program at St. Francis Episcopal Church, where they will be given a program listing the addresses and directions to the Pauma Valley homes and the Pala Mission.
