Judy Carmichael
Grammy nominated pianist/vocalist Judy Carmichael is one of the leading interpreters of stride and swing piano. Count Basie nicknamed her “Stride” acknowledging the command with which she plays this technically and physically demanding jazz piano style. Judy has performed throughout the world from Carnegie Hall to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice to Ronnie Scott’s in London, to shows with Michael Feinstein, Jools Holland, Melissa Etheridge, Leslie Garret, Joel Grey and the Smothers Brothers. Judy has done comic skits and performed her music on radio and TV and played private recitals for Robert Redford, Rod Stewart, Bill Clinton, and theater producer Cameron Macintosh, among others. The performance is free and open to the public and is made possible by the Friends of the Coronado Library.
