Artisanal mezcal maker from Mexico, Origen Raiz, will be featured for a pop-up Chef’s Table dinner collaboration alongside Tahona’s Executive Chef Adrian Villareal. More than 140 types of mezcal are regularly available for tastings and purchase, and the dinner will feature four courses of fare paired with mezcal. Executive Chef Adrian Villareal, who specializes in thoughtful Mexican cuisine and has cooked in such hotspots around the world as Noma in Denmark, has designed a menu unique to the evening to accentuate flavors of the Mexican spirit and deliver experiential dining in every bite. Joining the event is mezcal expert Bildo Saravia, owner of Origen Raiz, to provide insight into the four expressions of mezcal presented alongside each course. Reservations to Tahona’s Chef’s Table Dinner with Origen Raiz are available at www.tahonabar.com. A special happy hour between 5 and 7 p.m. features Origen Raiz mezcal and a surprise cocktail, with all profits from sales of the evening’s special cocktail going to Corazon de Vida, a 501C3 nonprofit designed to support ten orphanages throughout Baja California.
