You can help care for the hiking trails at Eagle Peak Ranch! This is your chance to enjoy a beautiful day outdoors while working with like-minded folks to care for our open spaces. Scenery and wildlife abound with views of Santa Ysabel, Cuyamaca Peak and the San Diego River Gorge! Volunteers will help to enhance and improve hiking opportunities at Eagle Peak Ranch through a fun and rewarding trail maintenance project. Tasks will include trail surveys, tamping, and digging. Details: • Bring at least 2 liters of water. • Wear sturdy hiking shoes and sun protection to keep yourself comfortable. • Poison oak is present, so long pants are recommended. • Pack a sack lunch or snack. • Dogs are not allowed. • This event is open to volunteers ages 14 and up. • Community service hours can be verified. Drive time included. Location: Eagle Peak Ranch is about 1.5 hours by car from central San Diego near the town of Julian. Please RSVP for directions to the volunteer event. RSVP is required.
