"FAHRENHEIT 451" - 1966. 112 minutes. Not Rated. French "New Wave" director Francois Truffaut's searing cautionary fable, based on Ray Bradury's 1953 novel, is a glimpse into an oppressive future where books are the opiate of the people. Illicit literature is burned by firemen, one of whom (Oskar Werner) becomes inspired by a suspended teacher (Julie Christie) to question authority and become an outlaw. (In English). Discussion after the film with instructor Ralph DeLauro in Liberty Hall, on the second floor of Paradise Village. Information: (619) 475-5040.
