San Diego Guitar Festival: Gohar Vardanyan
Gohar Vardanyan will make her San Diego Guitar Festival concert debut in Rhapsody Hall at the School of Music and Dance at San Diego State University. This marks the artist's first appearance during her residency at the festival, which occurs at various locales around San Diego at the end of April. Widely admired for her technique and artistry, Armenian guitarist Gohar Vardanyan has performed throughout the United States for numerous guitar societies, universities, and arts organizations, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and guitar societies in Seattle, San Francisco, Houston, Miami, and New York City to name a few. Her playing has been described as passionate, evocative, and virtuosic. In addition to her performing career, Ms. Vardanyan is an avid teacher. She frequently teaches master classes and guitar technique workshops during her concert stops. Ms. Vardanyan is an author of four books from Mel Bay Publications, with the fifth one on its way. She is an instructor on Strings by Mails Lessonettes and Unexplored Repertoire Series on YouTube. Now in its third season, the San Diego Guitar Festival promotes guitar artistry through educational opportunities and performances presented by world-class artists. Accessible to the community, the festival engages the next generation of guitarists and guitar enthusiasts in the Southern California region.
