The San Diego Pro Arte Voices is offering a free concert titled Disarm Hate: a musical response to gun violence, consisting of newly-commissioned music that has been written in response to the gun violence epidemic in this world. These pieces reflect various visceral responses to gun violence, using texts and poetry from those affected by this violence. Guests will speak and give testimony to these tragic events. Composers writing pieces for this concert and recording project include Gregory W. Brown, William Culverhouse, Scot Hanna-Weir, John Frederick Hudson, Shawn Kirchner, Tony Maglione, and Justin Murphy-Mancini.
