You Want A Slotted Head Or A Philips With That...Part Two

"Anticipation...anticipation. it's making me wait!" Carly Simon, from "Anticipation."

18-August-2010, 12:30hrs.

I make my trip to the Oceanside Social Security Field Office, on El Camino Real. With me are my paperwork, three bottles of chilled tea, and one book. I'm on the bus at South Santa Fe (westbound) at 12:47, then get to Vista Transit Center to catch the westbound Sprinter to El Camoni Real station. There, I board the southbound 309 and hop off near the field office.

14:21 hrs.

I meet with Mr Kwamoto, turn in my paperwork. He tells me I stand a good chance of re-gaining my benefits.

15:10 hrs: Back on the Northbound 309 to El Camiono Real Sprinter Station. I catch the westbound Sprinter to Oceanside Transit Station. Then I re-ride the Sprinter eastward to Vista (gets me out of the heat).

17:10 hrs: E-mail my dad about the results. We'll be talking Thursday at 12:00 hrs via phone.

19-August-2010--12;20 hrs.

Dad calls. We work out a deal on my rent...he will cover it, but I have to repay him when this whole episode ends. Better than no help at all. We also talk about my mild cellulitis in my ankles (I have an appointment Fri at 14:15 with Vista Community Clinic).

We now await the results...as if we had a choice.

I still have my UI bennies to keep me in groceries, plus I can go to Catholic Charities for food if needed. I also am putting in applications vis the net for jobs.

So, the upshot... 1) Paperwork is filed. 2) Dad will cover rent until the "final decision" (but money must be re-paid). 3) Not out of food yet. 4) I just have to wait and see what comes next!

Please keep me in your prayers. --LPR
