Rats and the Reindeer Sox Saga

it all started day before yesterday when i was up very early walking around in my usual bedware (shorts and an undershirt) when out of a "somethings in the oven" two weeks my bare feet knew before long i was gonna freeze my sox off

that Autumn cold snap wasn't subliminal any more and regardless of afternoon heat fall intended to assert herself and kick the palm trees to the curb!!

i liked that!!!

i know!! i know!! another day in paradise!!

fogitit!!!

as i rushed around bare foot..making my morning brew...starting up the computer...i heard some erstwhile grumbling in the bedroom I'd never heard before

i thought maybe it was my Roscoe dogs stomach rumbling and ignored it until Bobby my husband yelled Nan!!!

i think there are Rats in the bureau...get in here and shut them up!!!

Lawd have mercy i couldn't have been happier...i simply love rats and had them as pet for my children when the apartments i lived in would allow caged pets only

I'd been working at an exotic pet store and the rats were food

one day a lively pink eyed white one whistled me over and promised such magical understanding for me and the kids if i took him home I'd never be sorry

i was sorry tho...about 3 months later when a 2nd escapee from a slithering forked tongued beast became POP to 12 tiny pink hairless babies which i quickly decided to pass off for a very small price to my neighbors kids as chichuahuas

I'd had no idea Alexander our 1st rat was a transsexual who hadn't completed his surgery...and altho we had absolutely no luck convincing him that we'd love an Alexandria just as much...'cause he was such a good Mommy...he never had another litter

we sold the rat kids for a dime a piece and had no complaints...but i did have to crochet tiny halters and leashes for their owners to walk them on

have i told you about the reindeer sox yet????

NO!!!

well i'll have to do that next time

part one of a two parter
