Isn't art the point?

Recently An art piece thought to be created by the mysterious artist Banksy was covered over. The boring black wall inwhich the picture was on is once again a borring black wall. Funny how the point of this kind of art work is to establish that some grafftti art is truly art. According to the Oceanside police any uncommisioned piece of work is not art. So they covered it up. Hundreds of people came out to view the piece and capture the photo. Most likely brought in new patrons to the restaurant the piece was painted on. Talking to others no one seemed to not like it in fact more people mentioned to me they noticed it missing. To bad, but isn't the point Banksy is trying to make is to bring attention to these artists and there work? Yes, this was a small art piece to the big picture of bringing attention to issues, artists, gatherings, and apprection from a community. But the impact vanishes with the black paint. Banksy may never take credit for some art in areas where the police are having a strong desire to speak with him. However, I personally would like for his art to come back into Oceanside and be even bigger and bolder, make us think and get stirred up, laugh at our own existance. Sometimes the best artists are the most controversial and unappreciated in there time. Come to Oceanside Banksy, come back.
