Spike three: Tanya and Charles Brandes divorcing
Jen87 - Based on what I see and have heard, how do you not know that HE is the victim of bullying and suffering pain? This woman looks so damn self absorbed in those "look at me" photos. It is everything wrong with California and the me me me culture. Don't think for a minute that men cannot be victims of abuse. It is under reported.— April 30, 2018 9:17 a.m.

Why in the World are they Spraying? -- 01/27/13 at Joyce Beers Uptown Community Center

Illinois teachers fund axes two SD money managers
Explanation on how they had huge performance early: Tons of new accounts all buying the same International illiquid stocks. Tons of money chases illiquid stocks creates those stocks to go way up in price. Performance looks wonderful UNTIL firm gets too large and they can no longer buy the same illiquid stocks. Those in late get crushed and lose 70%. Those in early made a bundle. It was a ponzi scheme in that driven up stock prices paid off those early while those late lost their shirt and thensome.— January 18, 2013 1:19 p.m.
Brandes Lays Off More Than 40
Reply to 14 - I still say this was a ponzi. They built success based on buying illiquid international stocks. When you have a ton of money chasing illiquid securities, the price will go up. Thus, those that got in early, did great as the money behind them pushed up their securities' prices. Once they got too big, they had to go to U.S. and their "value" approach purchased such winners as Countrywide, Washington Mutual, McClatchey, Micron, General Motors (old), etc etc....all stuff that crashed to zero. So much for margin of safety. It worked while the ponzi was in place. Once it wasn't, down goes the ship. I am stunned they still are in business. Oh well, atleast Don was brave enough to expose them as for years they stayed out of the media. COLT— March 13, 2012 8:04 a.m.
SD Home Values Down 40% from Peak
Solana Beach has held up for some reason. Small cottages are still over $1 million near the Ocean. I still believe Encinitas/Carlsbad will be the next place to crumble. There are multitudes of ALT-A loans there that are going to crush people. Look for a major plunge in those locales.— March 13, 2012 7:52 a.m.
San Diego Rents Third Highest in Nation
When you consider that 90% of San Diego jobs pay less than $10 an hour, you wonder how people can afford to live there? Staggering.— March 13, 2012 7:47 a.m.
