Global Laser Cosmetics
I've always been a bit self-conscious of acne scars left from my high school/college years and felt a little helpless about it until a friend of mine mentioned microdermabrasion. Not gonna lie, I thought the procedure was just for those with "really bad acne" or those that had undergone cosmetic surgery. She suggested I check out the Global Laser Cosmetics site and learn more about it...that it's not just for those I had stereo-typed. Taking her word for it, I found a less expensive way to try it out via Mind Body Partnerships (http://mbpartnerships.com), which offered the service at a discounted rate. Their staff was very friendly and helpful. The procedure felt much more like a facial than anything else. The nurse used a hand-piece/wand that removed a light, top-layer of my dermis. The result was much lighter acne scars days later...and a much happier me. I'll definitely be back for more treatments.— November 2, 2009 2:43 p.m.
Akasha Yoga
After recently moving to San Diego (from the far off land of Orange County), I knew I needed some rejuvenation. I've been an active participant of the art of yoga for over three years now and I've found that the right studio can make all the difference in the world. A friend from college suggested I try going to Akasha with her and taking a Vinyasa Flow class with her. Being on a budget (like most), I searched online and found Mind Body partnerships (http://mbpartnerships.com) that offered 5 Akasha yoga classes at a discounted rate...that made the decision to check it out easy. Sara and I headed to her regular Monday evening class with Maya and had a wonderful and relaxing time. I've since then taken all five classes and continue to check out other instructors (if I can't make it on Mondays). I love the flexibility (no pun intended) of being able to purchase a group of classes and come whenever is convenient to me...knowing I'll have an enjoyable experience every time.— November 2, 2009 2:06 p.m.
Jezebelle Day Spa
I was referred by a colleague to visit Jezebelle Day Spa purely for the fact that she uses all natural ingredients ("Food for the face!" as Nicole, the owner/esthetician, says). When I arrived Nicole explained how she uses pharmaceutical-grade Cosmetix, a skin friendly line of products that's even safe for preggo ladies like myself. Before beginning the Refresher Facial, Nicole explained how to have naturally healthy skin and what the facial would be like (since it was my first one ever). She was very informative. The facial was extremely relaxing and I left feeling rejuvenated. (But just a bit nervous about my parking meter. Oops!) I received the facial via Mind Body Partnerships (http://mbpartnerships.com), so my first visit cost much less than the usual $45. I didn't feel that Nicole did any less of a job than if I had paid her in full. She gave me her card along with $20 off my next facial and a free brow/lip/chin waxing. I'll definitely be going back and would send anyone to her...hence the five stars!— October 29, 2009 3:48 p.m.
