Lovely Bones (when they're not broken)
Sounds like you had an eventful day. After reading your encounter with the whacky lady, it reminded me why I don't go to movie premieres anymore. Too much dealing with the masses...at least you have a good story to tell.— January 8, 2010 3:09 p.m.
Car Radio Control
I have to agree with the advice from Hax...the future wife has to get over it and accept the bro. Or if she can't she should move on to a different guy. Anybody who has ever been married will tell you, you don't just marry the wife/husband, you get the whole family as well. Like it or not. Sometimes seeing the extended family could clue you in that it isnt a gene pool worth swimming in.— January 8, 2010 2:49 p.m.
The Naked Schwinn Twins (or...Coke is it!)
LOL, schwinn twins..that was a good one. Speaking of fans being clearly visible...Thank DVRs for anyone going to a televised Basketball game. Record the game then when you get home you can see yourself at the game. Have some screen caps from a Lakers game : )— January 8, 2010 2:42 p.m.
Baby Einsteins, Dumb Pilots
LOL Karen.. Not many people remember ZOOM! I liked Mike best, as his intro was Pitch the ball, hit the ball, and catch the ball. As a little kid I thougth that was amazing...how did he do all at once hahaha Josh, I read the same study on adopted kids not doing as well as their peers also. I too thought that they (in general) may not have had the best start prior to being born.— October 27, 2009 2:53 p.m.
Music and Metallica Fans -- Dumb or Smart?
Josh wrote.."are you trying to tell me that all across the board, things will be equal" I am not disagreeing, but.... There is a huge difference in the average fan of Lil Wayne and Dylan....AGE That may have something to do with the studies results.— October 27, 2009 2:26 p.m.
40 is the New...
Happy Birthday Josh!! The nasty tasting frosting is Fondant... It includes gelatin (or agar in vegetarian recipes) and food-grade glycerine. Sounds yummy huh?? My kids were gripping about who got a piece with more fondant at a BDay party last weekend. Neither liked it, but would'nt admit it to the other. Each was trying to get the other to eat more.— October 6, 2009 12:58 p.m.
C is for Cookie
Do-Biz cookies are the best by far. In the midwest, but will ship to you. http://www.do-biz.com/ They always used an ice cream scoop to plop the dough on the sheets for baking. Once done, you end up with a supersized cookie the size of a smashed softball. To good to describe!— September 24, 2009 5:16 p.m.
Get a Leg Up
Just reading this blog...and comments. My initial reaction was with Ricky on Story's lawsuit. The thing that made me think it was a BS claim.....ONLY $1000. If you are rear ended and actually hurt, add at LEAST a zero to that number. It was too little of a number to believe. Our medical bills alone for my son's broken leg was over $50K, so with chiropracter, reg. doctor, visits, meds, etc. not to mention pain and suffering, it would be way way more than a grand. Sorry you were hurt, you should be compensated.— August 5, 2009 4:32 p.m.
Movie Pet Peeves
Maybe it is just me, but too many action flicks now have the "shaky camera" thing going on and too many cut away shots. I think it started after Blair Witch or Cloverfield....YES, I know those were camcorder flicks and supposed to be that way. Just watched Borne Supremacy last night on HBO...the car chase was almost unwatchable. What is up with all the cut angles, switching back and forth with 5 camera angles, jiggly cameras, etc. I commented to my wife that if that scene was done more like the car chase from The French Connection it would have been 100% better. Maybe I am getting old, but that gives me a headache and I can't follow the action.— August 5, 2009 4:12 p.m.
Helping the Homeless
You should of had "Dang" check your AC. The Esco Chrysler dealer has tried to take me to the cleaners as well...avoid that shop. SF..You hit the nail on the head!! Go to an unseemly place that spends their time working on cars, not cleaning the waiting area. If the place is spotless, then that means they have all the time in the world to clean....probably cause they have no repeat customers! I agree with the name thing as well, and with the "christian" in the name even more so.— August 5, 2009 3:59 p.m.
