Bonding with The November Man, Pierce Brosnan
He's a way better Bond than Craig. And I liked Taffin. Tailor of Panama I've seen like 10 times. I totally agree, one of the decades finest films along with A Christmas Tale.— August 29, 2014 8:13 p.m.
Alan Partridge
A lot of British humor like Monty Python never could get. Coogan is good at times. I did like The Trip and interested in seeing the TV series of it. The first Alan Partridge TV series was hit or miss. I'd be surprised if America ever gets into him.— April 15, 2014 4:46 p.m.
Dig a hole: Mickey Rooney
They had a nice retrospective on TCM yesterday that I missed. I wonder how his version of Huckleberry Finn is.— April 14, 2014 10:29 a.m.
Jewish film fest faves
How did Corman slip in there? I certainly don't like anything Woody does now, but he writes and directs his films, and that's quite a task. His 70-80's output was pretty amazing. As for Scorsese I really enjoyed Wolf and Casino, yet nothing in between. It's a good question though, who is the greatest living American director?— February 21, 2014 1:35 p.m.
Philip Seymour Hoffman to be digitally inserted into final Hunger Games sequel
I'll have to check out Boogie Nights again. Couldn't get through it at the time.— February 21, 2014 12:27 p.m.
Jewish film fest faves
Woody been churning out dogs lately, but he's maybe the best living American director. Comedy is harder than drama, and Woody Allen is a master. Off the subject. Speaking of humor, and politically incorrect... finally saw Lina Wertmüller's masterpieces 'Swept Away' and 'All Screwed Up'. She's f%$king great! You should interview her. She's 85 now.— February 17, 2014 7:59 p.m.
Philip Seymour Hoffman to be digitally inserted into final Hunger Games sequel
Don't blame the heroin... blame all the shitty directors Philip Seymour Hoffman worked with. Great actor shitty films.... All of them! The Master was a big shit. Boogie Nights? Capote? Both shit.— February 17, 2014 7:49 p.m.
The Best Films of 2013
To the Wonder was awful. There's no acting just puppetry and crummy cinematography. Terrence 'where actors go to die on the cutting room floor' Malick is very overrated. Wolf of Wall Street is best new movie I saw all year. I had no idea it was going to be so over the top.— January 7, 2014 3:19 p.m.
The Best Films of 2013
Only God Forgives, was pretty good. Passed on Drug War. To's Election superior.— January 7, 2014 3:10 p.m.
Scorsese’s fugazis
Weed is a no no.... Blow is a go go....— December 26, 2013 9:23 p.m.
