Speed Kills
Ah, a speeding vehicle down memory lane... I wish that the Reader could dig up my original "letter to the editor" about this article. It was published, in all of its scathing glory, a week or two after this article was originally published. I knew Chuckie. I knew Sonia & Bud and his sister Lisa. I adored Lisa and liked Sonia until she started meddling in too many things. When I decided to stop hanging with Lisa, it was Sonia calling me up asking me to see her again. Chuckie was a user, through and through. The "front" of being a christian and the "front" of being a healthy-lifestyler were just that "fronts." He was performing, as most users do, to get things from his family and friends. As most pitiful victims' families do, Sonia really tried to blot out the truth and that's what pissed me off most back in 2000. Sonia dear, 10 years down the road and we're still here... By the way, I've prompted a few of his former co-workers to read this article recently - Why? Because they didn't know the whole story... The drugs were a complete unknown to them!— February 8, 2011 9:45 a.m.
Back in the Day
Social Spit rocked the Chico - Can't beat the energy they were pounding and nice guys too. Johnny and Cliff are very approachable (not that the other guys weren't, I just didn't approach them). Gotta see them!— April 15, 2010 9:01 p.m.

Bake the Tapes
Baking tapes is usually pretty successful BUT, in the case of one very rare Tom Evans tape from his pre-Badfinger days, the "baking house" operator left one in too long and lost a treasured piece of power-pop history. Baker beware!— April 15, 2010 8:49 a.m.
