Ché Café

The Ché Café was established on UCSD's campus in 1980 and has been a staple to San Diego's music scene since its conception. The venue has hosted a number of notable internationally touring acts such as Billy Corgan, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Rise Against, and many more. The venue also opens its doors to the community for fundraisers, art shows, theatrical acts, and other events, many of which are hosted for UCSD clubs and organizations.

UCSD's University Centers Advisory Board is holding a vote Tuesday, May 13 to cut the Ché Café from their budget. If passed, the University will effectively close the venue for an undetermined time period until funds can be allocated to carry out, what the University deems as, critical renovations.
