Passenger Falls off Train Downtown

On Saturday, February 5, at about 3:15 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a call from the Santa Fe Train Depot after a passenger fell off a train from San Luis Obispo.

According to information obtained from a fire-department incident report, a 59-year-old male passenger who appeared to be intoxicated fell onto the tracks and suffered a cut on his chin while disembarking.

Two of the Amtrak train conductors who were working on the train, one a former San Diego sheriff’s deputy and the other a former emergency medical technician at the Barona casino, administered first aid until paramedics arrived.

The victim was transported to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest for treatment of his injuries.

OH, it sounds as if the train was stopped at the platform and disembarking passengers when he toppled off the train car. So you might have said he tripped at the train station. How the h___ did he fall off a moving train? That wasn't what happened.
