Arthur Putnam's Ferocious Life
1450 El Prado, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $12
California sculptor Arthur Putnam pursued his life with fierce passion and vigor that found expression in his many bronze animals sculptures. Noble, ferocious beasts at combat and at rest were his favorite subjects in a career that earned him the admiration of his colleagues and a growing international reputation before being tragically incapacitated at the age of 38 after less than a decade of work. This lecture is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Ferocious Bronze.
