25 Years of the Casbah with Tim Mays
25 Years of the Casbah: An Evening With Tim Mays and Friends ties into the proclamation of January 14, 2014 as Casbah Day in San Diego, which has cemented the club's standing as the region's most significant and iconic music venue. The driving force behind the Casbah is co-founder Tim Mays, whose entrepreneurial energies have been focused on his passion for music since producing his first show in 1979.
The event features an intimate conversation with impresario Mays, chronicling his extraordinary career and contributions. Mays will be joined by friends and special musical guests who have helped make the Casbah the legendary venue that it is today, and mark the milestone of its 25th Anniversary by reflecting on the events and music that have earned the club its distinctive place in San Diego history.
The partial list of performers includes John Reis of Rocket From the Crypt, Gary Heffern of the Penetrators, Pall Jenkins of Black Heart Procession and Three Mile Pilot, Robert Williams of Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, Mario Escovedo of The Dragons, Mitch Wilson of No Knife, Rob Crowe of Pinback, Andrew McKeag of Uncle Joe’s Big Ole Driver and Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman of The Silent Comedy.
