Performance dates: Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, March 14 through April 13, at PowPAC. This is a five-week run.
Synopsis: Forty-something Becky Foster has a decent job at an auto dealership, a solid husband, and a freeloading psych-major son living in her basement. Her life is pleasant enough, but through a twist of fate, Becky gets to test drive an exciting new life. Dietz has written a frothy, poignant and fresh new comedy — a perfect side trip from the daily woes of modern life. Characters:
Becky: late 40s, funny, droll, charming, intelligent. The actress must be comfortable with long monologues, improvisation and talking directly to the audience.
Joe: Becky's husband, late 40s, a roofer, solid, dependable, blue collar.
Chris: The son, age 26, a somewhat slovenly, quirky college student.
Walter: 60s, a very wealthy businessman, well dressed, classy, confident.
Keni: Walter's daughter, age 23, cute, spunky.
Steve: Becky's co-worker, age 50, widowed.
Ginger: Walter's neighbor: 50s, single.
