Conductor Steven Schick and La Jolla Symphony & Chorus open the 2013-2014 season with music from four centuries. New York’s classical ensemble ICE (International Contemporary Ensemble) will perform a program that ranges from Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante for Winds” through Edgard Varèse’s revolutionary work for solo flute “Density 21.5,” featuring ICE soloist Claire Chase, and on to Dai Fujikura’s “Mina” that was commissioned and premiered by the Seattle Symphony with ICE last year.
