Fyodor Dostoyevski, the passionate existentialist and giant of Russian letters, is haunted by his past naïve involvement in socialistic rhetoric. He finds himself confronted by the result of those events and the fame he has gained as a writer. The revolutionary youth look up to him and he must act to save the lives of people whose loss would only mean more suffering for those he truly cares about. This film details the 19th century Czarist life in Saint Petersburg, the coming crisis, and the writer who tries to stand at the center of it. Presented by the San Diego Italian Film Festival.
