Background:

Cabron's seven-song EP Mexican Shoe Thief was released online for free on October 8, 2007.

"Who buys CDs anymore anyway?," says the band on their website. "We've posted four new tunes on our MySpace page." The songs were recorded live to two-inch tape at Audio Design Studio in San Diego, CA and engineered by Dan Maier (Head Wound City, The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower, Some Girls).

Guitarist Bob Rob Medina created a limited run of about 500 silk-screened, wood-block, 12-inch covers to sell at shows for about seven bucks. "We'll put a blank disc with a site you can download the tunes from in it along with an insert for lyrics. Basically people will pay for the art if they come and see us and if people really want we'll mail them."

"Who needs record labels anyway? It's the same thing punk bands have been doing for the past 30 years."

The band spent 2008 playing around town and touring behind their seven-song EP Mexican Shoe Thief. Singer Chino Leo left the band, replaced by Rodney Foley (Disposable Income), who debuted with the band March 19, 2009, at the Radio Room.
